Area 1, which corresponds to the portion of the project west of Colvin Forest Drive, excluding the intersection at Baron Cameron Avenue, has a wide median and requires relatively few right of way and easement acquisitions. This allows the design-build team to begin construction activities early on in the five-year construction phase of project.
